Lake Towada

A 14-km gorge along the border of Towada and Akita, formed by the Oirase River flowing from Lake Towada. Its autumn foliage is among Japan's most spectacular, with dozens of waterfalls including Shiraito and Chōshi Ōtaki. Moss-covered rocks and crystal waters along hiking trails create a picturesque landscape.
