Chichibu Night Festival

A traditional festival held in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture in spring (April) and autumn (October). Eleven ornate festival floats parade through town, a tradition dating back to the Edo period. Notable for its elaborate carvings and decorations, it is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Each season honors different tutelary deities, attracting visitors from around the world.
